TI StudyCards storyboard: prototype vs. existing software

Step 1 - Opening TI StudyCards
When opening the existing software, a dialog opens which prompts the user to choose the type of calculator connection and stack to be created. The initial pop-up is repeated each time a user creates a new stack and forces users to make choices up front, out of the context of the task. Users are locked into the stack type selected and cannot create different question types within the program. Users also frequently only use one type of calculator and are forced to repeat this choice each time the program opens.

prototype
The first time a user opens the StudyCards program they are prompted to choose their calculator type. This selection is then stored as a default, but users are able to easily change it through the drop down menu on the main screen. Selecting a new calculator type changes the display options in the “Front of Card” and “Back of Card” fields.

Users are also able to select the question type and level of difficulty on a per question basis within the context of the program.
