I became a coach because while I love the startup world, it also nearly broke me. The high points of my career—founding a startup, shaping product at Slack—were also full of failure as I struggled to take the risks necessary to achieve my ambitions.

Yet with each risk I took, I learned more about what worked for me and what didn’t. I stopped waiting to be sure and experimented boldly with changing how I led. I worked through my stress so I could ask for help without fear or shame. Suddenly my ambitions seemed much clearer and closer. My awakening had begun.
